OVER 7000 MOVES

November 2019 – Brisbane Convoy For Kids

Our team had a great day at the 10th annual charity convoy. The Charity Convoy raises money for Humming Bird House’s wish is Queensland’s only Children’s Hospice. Their mission is to provide the best practice short break stays and care at the end of life for children with a life-limiting condition and their families, and to help their families create memories that will last a lifetime.

This year we had 6 of our trucks from our fleet participate in the convoy. As soon as we arrived at the starting point at Forest Lake I knew they had far exceeded the participants from the previous years. The organisers have confirmed that it was indeed the highest number of trucks in the convoy so far with over 600 trucks!

The convoy departed just after 830am from Johnson Rd, Forest Lake heading up the Logan Motorway, Gateway Motorway, Deagon Deviation and along then along the Redcliffe foreshore. Many locals came out to show their support, waving, kids (and big kids) calling for the air horns and holding signs thanking the truckers for supporting such a great cause. Local cafes along the route were packed with people. Many locals are set up on their veranda and front yards with BBQs cooking and drinks in hand. It gives you an overwhelming sense of pride to be involved in such a great event. Many of the truckers and their families travel from the Gympie and Sunshine Coast areas. The local Redcliffe community comes out in force to show their support as well.

Well done to the organisers for raising $50,000 to donate this year to Humming Bird House what a fantastic achievement.

See you next year!
