Your Options Under The Program

Relocate

Your bought-back home may not need demolishing. Many are suitable for relocation to higher ground. We assess, move and restump it, start to finish.

Raise

Staying put? We lift homes above flood level and restump to your required height, engineered for your block and soil.

Reposition

Higher ground on your own land? We slide and reposition houses within their block, moving them clear of the flood line without leaving home.

BOUGHT AT AUCTION OR EOI?

Bought a Buyback Home? Here's what happens next.

We inspect the home and your destination block, flag any access or overlay issues, and confirm the move is achievable within your settlement timeframe.

We’ll tell you what the move will realistically cost: transport, restumping, and any extras like asbestos removal or site clearing. Straight answers before you lock in your plans.

Buyback purchases run on deadlines. Talk to us as soon as your contract is signed and we’ll be scheduled to lift and move your home the moment it settles.

What A Relocation Involves

House transport and relocation

We manage the entire relocation process, from lifting your home at its original site to delivering and positioning it on your new block. Whether it’s 5km or 1,000km away, our team has the experience and equipment to move your home safely and efficiently.

Council permits and road escorts

Moving a house isn’t as simple as putting it on a truck. We take care of all required permits, route planning, and arrange pilot or police escorts where needed, ensuring everything is done by the book and without stress on your end.

Restumping at the new site

Once your home arrives at its new location, we restump it to the correct height using materials appropriate to your block and soil conditions. This sets a strong foundation for any future works or extensions.

Help with drafting, engineering and approvals

Navigating approvals can be daunting, but we’ve got you covered. We’ll assist with building applications, supply engineering and drafting plans, and help ensure everything is ready for certification.

Optional asbestos removal & site clearing

If your home contains asbestos or needs to be cleared from the original site, we can take care of that too. Our licensed team can handle asbestos removal, disposal, and supply clearance certificates for peace of mind.

We know this isn’t just a house move; it’s a fresh start.

Relocating through the Resilient Homes Program can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to figure it out alone. With decades of experience moving homes across Queensland and Northern NSW, we’ve helped hundreds of families make safe, confident transitions to higher ground.

Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions about relocating through the Resilient Homes Program?
We’ve answered the most common ones to help you feel confident at every stage.

If your property has been identified for buyback due to high flood risk, you may choose to relocate the home instead of selling it to the government. This option is available through the Resilient Measures stream for eligible homeowners.

The process typically includes:

  • Assessing the structural suitability of your home

  • Securing a new block of land

  • Checking zoning, overlays, and flood risk

  • Obtaining permits and approvals

  • Physically relocating and restumping the house

  • Completing any required works to meet council/building codes

Yes — if you don’t wish to relocate the house yourself, you can gift it to someone else, provided they meet NSW Reconstruction Authority’s requirements. The home must be relocated for residential use within the region.

We offer:

  • Obligation-free quotes

  • On-site assessments

  • Full relocation (transport, escort, restumping)

  • Help with approvals, drafting, and engineering

  • Optional asbestos removal and site clearing

Photos of the house, its address, and if you have one, the destination block’s address. From that we can tell you quickly whether relocation is realistic and what it’s likely to cost.

Yes — under the Resilient Measures stream, eligible homeowners may apply for a relocation grant of up to $100,000 (including GST) to help cover the costs of moving their existing home to a safer location.

If your home is accepted into the buyback program and relocated, the original site will be resumed and managed by the NSW Government to prevent future residential use due to flood risk.

The NSW Reconstruction Authority’s auction rounds have now concluded. If you purchased a home through auction or EOI, we can inspect and move it. If you missed out, our removal houses for sale are ready to relocate now.
